The Northern Virginia Chorale’s Rehearsal & Audition Information
Thank you for your interest in auditioning with
the Northern Virginia Chorale!
The Chorale welcomes singers with a wide range of musical experience. We hope you will audition to become part of this warm and welcoming group of singers.
Rehearsals and Concerts
Chorale rehearsals are normally on Monday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30 in the Fellowship Hall of St. Mark’s Lutheran Church located at 5800 Backlick Road in Springfield, just south of I495.
The Chorale generally conducts three concerts per season. Our Holiday concert is usually held in early December. A Masterworks concert that features a piece from the classics is usually in March, and in May our Spring concert usually presents music from a variety of genres.
During the week prior to a concert’s performance, additional rehearsals may be held. Dress rehearsals occur on Friday evenings, prior to our Saturday performances. (Concert dress is worn only for performances, not at the dress rehearsals.)
Auditions
Auditions generally occur at the start of each concert period. Please contact the Artistic Director at auditions@northernvirginiachorale.org to schedule one. This downloadable document explains what the director would like to know before an audition.
